That's right, Samir, the roommates and I were all the Scooby Gang this year!

(Jinkies, we have a mystery on our hands!)
With the exception of Megan and Samir's, each outfit was purchased from Good Will. It's amazing what you can find there. Also, to be perfectly accurate, both guys were wearing girl's pants, for the flared effect. Scary enough, they liked them. The characters were seemingly perfect for each of our personalities, minus Samir's of course. He put up a lot, what with the tail, the painted nose and the ears and all.The five of us went downtown and met up with some of my other friends. We chose a bar with a great view of the street that was closed off for walkers. All night we watched people passing by, judging and rating their costumes, while drinking very cheap drinks. Once "Thriller" came on, we ran to the dance floor inside and did our best Michael Jackson dance impressions. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun.
Saturday was my birthday! I'm officially 25 years old. Since everyone was still tired from the night before, we had a simple BBQ at my house and then played around at the playground down the street. Colure, Kevin, Paola, and her daughter Natalie all joined Samir, my roommates and I. We ate, joked around, and spoke of how amazing the movie Dick Tracy is. Seriously. Colure has the same camera as me, so we took advantage of playground time by taking loads of goofy pictures.

(Samir jumping for joy and Colure staring into the distance)
That night, after a much needed nap, Samir and I had dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant. After the cups were drained and plates cleaned, we strolled down the brick roads and took in the atmosphere. It was a lovely night to walk around, reflect and make plans for the new year.We ended the night with apple pie and The Soup. Because a weekend isn't a weekend without some comedy.

The costumes turned out great! That's crazy that most of that stuff came from the thrift store. We weren't as lucky... but we were able to find a few things for our costumes at Salvation Army.
