Allergic Reaction

Jetta knows that he's adorable. Look at that face, there's no denying it. After long hours at work I go home in hopes of relaxation. But no, that's never accomplished because THAT FACE is staring at me with his frisbee or squeaky toy. I have to give in, of course. I mean, who couldn't?

This past week Jetta had a minor allergic reaction to, from what the vet told us, pollen. Apparently Jetta has allergies just like me. From scratching his side so much, his skin became a bit infected so we had to put him on antibiotics and, of all things, children's Benadryl. My mother, who worries more about Jetta than the state of the economy, and I went to CVS in search of the medicine. Noticing that the store was lacking in their children's supply, we went to the front counter. Frantically, yet demanding, my mother stated "We need children's Benadryl. It's out. We need it."

The lady looked at me quizzically. Me, the 25 year old college graduate standing quietly next to my hyperactive mother. Realizing her assumption, I quickly chimed in. "Oh, no! It's not for me! It's for him!" I said, pointing down. There Jetta laid in the shopping cart, paws tucked under his body, looking up at the attendant. Within moments she found us the medicine.

Because, really, who could say no to those eyes?
