And we're off...

The hum of an airplane's engine always lulls me to sleep. Sitting, waiting for the plane to take off, the deep noise and slow movement seems to rock me to sleep, as if I were a baby in my mother's arms. I don't let it fully, though. Just as my eyes start to droop and my head bob, I sit up straight, refusing to succumb to its power. I never want to miss a take off. I never want to miss seeing the houses change into Monopoly pieces and the people shrink down to dots. I love the feeling I get when we break through the clouds, revealing the beams of light unblocked and free. The feeling of possibilities and new explorations. So I don't fall asleep. Instead, I hold my eyes open and look towards the sky.

Today Samir and I leave for London. I'm incredibly excited and unsure what to expect. I won't be writing in this while gone, but I may occasionally update my twitter page using Samir's iPod. And if not...I'll see you all in a week!

Cheerio, old chaps!
(They're going to LOVE me there...)

I can NEVER fall asleep on an airplane! The chairs are so cramped. Maybe if I got lucky and had a seat in first class I'd be able to.

It's funny, I'm definitely the same way. It seems to happen a lot on any kind of mass transportation. Like, for example, the Underground in London. Though extreme fatigue could factor into that as well.

Speaking of which, have a lovely time! Pictures s'il vous plait!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't sleep on a plane. 20 something hours to Korea and not a wink.

Have fun!
