A list of exciting moments in London:
- Stepping out of the tube to see Big Ben staring at me, precariously perched as if he was saying "hello!"
- Walking through Kings Cross Station specifically to find platform 9 3/4. (It was there. I realized later that looking for it was more exciting than actually finding it. It was as if we were the kids in the book.)
- Riding the London Eye. The views were amazing and thankfully there were only two other people in the "capsule" with us

- Pretending to have a British accent
- Noticing how Samir's British accent was much stronger when he was around his friends/family
- Finding the house where the exterior shots of SPACED were filmed
- Proceeding to quote the show for the remainder of the trip
- Walking through Samir's old college campus and childhood neighborhood

- Attempting to jump onto the lion statues in Trafalgar Square, but failing miserably. (They were so high, and I'm so short...)
- Seeing the red carpet for Duplicity (even though we did not see Clive Owen)
- Getting stuck watching the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. Sure, it's lovely for the first few moments, but 40 minutes in, you're aching to leave and the streets are blocked.

- Everything about the Natural History Museum, including: dinosaurs, riding an escalator through a fake planet, learning that I'm the average height for a 12 year old boy, meeting the fossil woman...
- Taking pictures by the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens
- Eating Indian food with Ed (the one person I knew) in the area that Jack the Ripper ran wild (and, additionally, having my mouth burned by said Indian food)

- Eating Chinese food in a place where the servers were known to be horrid
- Every pub that was beautifully decorated with twirling staircases, comfortable chairs, and warm fireplaces.
- Being absolutely confused by the Tate Modern Museum (modern art does not, apparently, make me want to rock out.)
- Due to the heavy winds, almost being knocked off the Millennium Bridge
- Going to an American Cafe for breakfast. Apparently Americans are known to be poker playing cowboys over there.

- Eating Italian food in a small basement under a large building. No one knew it was there, but boy was it delicious.
- Meeting Samir's friends and relatives that I heard so much about. (They were all lovely)
- Seeing The Lion King
- Watching a male comedian do an NY accent and then strip into a rather revealing leather outfit

- The National Portrait Gallery (all of it)
- Trying fish and chips
- Tasting every chocolate bar we could get our hands on
- ...and so much more.
One more London post tomorrow!

My word, that sounds so fabulous! I'm way jealous that you got to go, but also happy for you. :)
Woooow! I went down to London for the day once (I'm from the North of England) and did some of the things you did, London's loads of fun. Glad you had a good time!
It sounds like such an amazing trip!!!
I need to go to London immediately! I haven't been since I was 13 and have been dying to go back ever since.
Wow- that's cool that you rode on the London Eye, and I bet those views were amazing! I wanted to go to the Tate Modern but I didn't make it there- modern art is generally confusing, or at least it has been in my experience.
Your pictures are great as well!
this post made my heart ache for London
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful trip
seriously this sounds like it was such an amazing trip. i love it all.
You have just encouraged me to take a little vacay sometime in the near future. Hopefully to Europe.
It sounds like y'all had an amazing time!
Sounds spectacular!
Your trip recap is totally making me want to go to London someday!!
Yep, I did the annoying pretending to have a British accent thing when I visited London too. I'm sure that's why Europeans despise Americans.
Sounds like a great time!
Wow-- it is such an iconic city. It sounds like you are experiencing as much as you can!! Glad you are having such a wonderful trip!
Gosh it looks like such a fun time. I loved taking the Underground. Mind the gap!
Wow, this absolutely made me miss London. Crazy how you can live somewhere for 6 years and never visit again.
Also? I'm mailing your little package tomorrow. I PROMISE. I seriously, seriously don't know what it is about me and avoiding the post office. Sigh.
So jealous! Looks like you had an amazing time
