As many of you loyal readers might have noticed, I've been posting book reviews more often as of late (as it turns out, once a week they've been popping up.) I've always been a rather voracious (read: dorky) reader (what with the degree in literature, two jobs at bookstores, and one job as an english teacher), but there's a reason behind my recent reviews. As it turns out, I have a new part time (unpaid, yet extremely fun) endeavor.Over the past few weeks I've slowly become a book blogger for three semi-huge publishing companies! Basically, they send me new or soon to be published books and I review them here and elsewhere. It benefits me because I get books and it benefits them because they get free publicity. Truly, it's the most exciting thing to happen to me, my blog, and my bookcase.
HDS won't turn into a full time book blog, don't worry I'll still have my stories and nonsense, but there will be weekly reviews. And, possibly, occasional book giveaways. I'll keep you posted on those.
Anyway, I just wanted to explain what's been going on in my life and this blog. I'm incredibly thrilled to be doing this and am very happy with where it's taking HDS. Now, if only this could be a full time job...
