Half Deserted Streets has been remodeled once again. I only have the link bar left to edit (I want it to match everything else, but my HTML skills are only sub par. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.) Verdict?
Speaking of that book - Niffenegger's literary agency is offering free advanced reader copies to book bloggers. Check out the information on their Facebook site and tell them I sent you.
Last, I finally decided on my specialization for grad school! With my MLIS I'm going to specialize in youth services. With that focus, I can create literacy programs for young adults and/or children. I'm really excited about it, and not just because I get to take classes on YA lit. I think it'll be incredibly interesting and fun. Plus, reading all of those YA novels will help me with my own YA book, which is currently in the process of being written.
What's going on with you all?

The new layout is great!
And that's great about choosing your concentration and that's a great thing to do. Getting to the young ones early and teaching them about how wonderful reading can be... that is a very, very, very good thing to do
I'm going to focus on youth librarianship, too! Let me know if you have any good YA recs!
Lauren, that's terrific! I think you'll have a ton of great ideas for programs and such.
That is exciting to have a specfic focus for your studies. The OCLS has a decent youth area, but would benefit from some energy and direction! Hey, love the new look too!
I miss the little owl from the old page. It was a welcome bird in a lonely internet.
Literacy programs are so good. I'm a huge proponent of them.
I like your new layout, Lauren!
And thanks so much for sharing the link! I so wanted to read this book!! :)
I didn't know you were writing a book! That is so awesome, Lauren! You are full of surprises. And that sounds like the perfect specialty for you. Merges your teaching background and love for reading perfectly!!
I really like the theme. I don't know anything about blogger layouts (I do wordpress), but it looks really good!
I like the new look and congrats on the new developments! Thanks for continuing to stop by our site. We've got a weekly book review now, and I've got one that I'm writing about soon too: Dan Chaon's forthcoming "Await Your Reply." Keep up the great work!
