Oh boy. I knew this one was coming. According to my count, I read 55 books this year so far - that's a lot to choose from! (As a side note, it's been my goal to read 50 books in a year for the past five years. It's the first time i've done it. Yay me!) Since I clearly can't just choose one, here's a few.
Favorite book published in 2009
Juliet, Naked - Nick Hornby
Close second place
Along for the Ride - Sarah Dessen
Favorite book(s) read in 2009 (other than the two previously mentioned)
I can't choose one. Here are my top four:
The Monsters of Templeton - Lauren Groff
The History of Love - Nicole Krauss
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer
The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger

Can you believe I've read none of these? I finally had to put The Time Traveler's Wife on a challenge for next year to make sure I would read the darned thing.
just finished time traveler's wife - totally cried at the end, but it was amazing.
my amazon wishlist is getting so long from all your reviews!
Out of those, I've read:
The Monsters of Templeton
Exremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Time Traveler's Wife
Gotta say I loved the first two on that list the best!
Favorite Book of 2009- The Wild Trees: A Story of Passion and Daring by Richard Preston.
I have to agree with you though, the Time Traveler's Wife was great.
Congratulations on 55!
I actually picked Along for the Ride as my favorite book this year.
Also grats on reading 55 books! *high five*
Time Traveller's Wife was def. my favourite, I read it twice!! Juliet, Naked is next on my list :)
Haven't read any of those, although they sound good - thanks for the recommendations. And 55 is good going for the year. I don't keep count, but you've got me thinking that I should start in 2010!
YAAAY I'm so proud of you for finally meeting (and surpassing!) your 50 books in a year goal! :D
Awesome choices and great job on meeting your goal!
Congrats on meeting your goal! I have History of Love in my TBR pile- maybe I should get to it soon! :-)
Kudos to you for reading 55 books. I think I managed to read 5 proper ones (which do not count my cookbooks of course!).
I quite like the Time traveller’s wife (which I read this year). But the book that captivates me is Suite Francaise. Just brilliant read. From that momentum, I am checking out The diary of a young girl, which was mentioned in your previous post.
I think it's amazing how you've read so many books. There a re a few I haven't read that I can't wait to pick up :) maybe when my holiday is starting :)
Nice work! I wish I read as much as you.
I absolutely ADORED The Time Traveler's Wife this year. It took me a little while to get into it, but once I did, I loved it.
