The entry level is probably 13 or 14, but there is no upper level because the books are also for adults. Saying YA is 13-21, or 13-18 or whatever misses the point, because it suggests that the books are not for older adults, whereas I would say that in fact the core audience of people reading YA (and YA SFF in particular) are in fact 16-35. But this is only the core and the readership extends more broadly upward in age and down as well.” [From Podcast Coode Street Episode 20, second comment]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;— Definition by Garth Nix</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/8861465309609418332/1195068329821080359/comments/default/7470883689346450224'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/8861465309609418332/1195068329821080359/comments/default/7470883689346450224'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.halfdesertedstreets.com/2011/10/young-adult-literature-vs-books-with.html?showComment=1327473558251#c7470883689346450224' title=''/><author><name>katieharding</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/11527968404365002156</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.halfdesertedstreets.com/2011/10/young-adult-literature-vs-books-with.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8861465309609418332.post-1195068329821080359' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/8861465309609418332/posts/default/1195068329821080359' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-300689902'/></entry></feed>
