Holidays aren’t just reserved for summer sun, and there’s no reason why when the weather takes a turn for the dark and chilly, that you shouldn’t be thinking about jetting off to somewhere either snowy and adventurous, or winter sun-like and fabulous!
Put simply, the world is your oyster regardless of the month.
The Canary Islands, Kenya, Goa, the Indian Ocean resorts, the Caribbean, Orlando, Austria, Switzerland, France .. the list goes on, and it all depends on what you want to do, as to where you go.
Remember to cut your costs as much as possible and you’ll have more to spend once you’re there, and this will also mean you can open up your destination search a little, perhaps heading somewhere a little more exotic! I always find driving myself to the airport and cutting out the need to book expensive public transport, or even more expensive taxis, is the best way to save initially. Think about it, a train fare for a family of four, or a one-off payment for airport parking, through a company such as ParkBCP, and the petrol costs of course. It’s a no-brainer for me, and something I always do nowadays. You can book airport parking spots nationwide, including more regionally too. I’ve booked this service at several airports, and recently used Manchester airport parking, showing that nobody misses out.
This is probably the first and best way to save money when it comes to travel logistics, and also cuts out the worry of public transport being affected by adverse weather.
So, where will you go on your winter jaunt?
If you’re wanting winter sunshine then you’re going to have to travel a little further afield. The Canary Islands, such as Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife are great for mid-haul sunshine, with pleasant temperatures and plentiful sunshine, whilst the rest of us are shivering! A four hour flight is all it takes to get you to these sun-drenched islands.
Alternatively, you could head further afield, perhaps the Caribbean? You could choose to base yourself on one island, or you could get adventurous and cruise around. The choice is yours, and the options are endless.
The Indian Ocean islands are always popular, and this is a serious break from the winter cold back home. Kenyan safaris are another option too, which most people would have on their once in a lifetime holiday list.
Fancy some thrills and spills? Why not pack up and head to Orlando for a theme-park break? Of course, there is much more on offer in Florida than simply Orlando and its theme-parks, with fantastic beaches and a chilled-out vibe on offer.
If it’s not sun you’re after then why not head off skiing or snowboarding? If you fancy the snow but not the actual sport to go with it, then a log cabin break is an ideal option. What could be more relaxing than watching the snow fluttering down outside, covering the picturesque mountains, whilst you’re snuggled up inside, in front of a roaring fire, with a cup of something you enjoy? Switzerland, Austria, even Lapland – winter snow holidays are endless too.
