I started HDS on January 1, 2008. I had a blog since 2001 (in LiveJournal, of course), but every few years I moved it around, in hopes of starting new. I suppose now, in 2012, it's time to move on again.
As of today, I'm officially ending Half-Deserted Streets. I've had some amazing times with this blog, and met fantastic people. I know it seems silly to wax poetic about the end of a blog, but if feels like so much more than that.
For me, it's the end of an era.
I started HDS as a place to vent my feelings when I knew a simple composition notebook wouldn't do. As days went on, I found fellow bloggers going through similar situations. I became a 20-something-blogger, then a book blogger. Each reader inspired me to write more, write better.
And I guess it all paid off, really. As of right now, I'm working with an agent to finalize my first novel prior to sending it off to editors in hopes of them publishing it. I'm incredibly excited and, at the same time, incredibly scared. It's all happening.
So because of all this, I'm closing HDS. But I'll still be writing, quite a bit, from my new blog, so come on by. Fresh start, right?
And in the meantime, feel free to browse some of my favorite posts from HDS past. Here and Here.
To readers: you've been fantastic. Thanks for sticking with me throughout all these years.
And to my dear HDS: Thanks for the memories.
